OSHA - 30 Hr Construction Industry

The 30-Hour outreach course, covers specific OSHA standards and requirements as they apply to the construction industry and teaches safety awareness which helps in recognizing and reducing the risks of job site hazards. This training is intended for workers with some safety responsibility and covers safety and health hazards workers may face on construction work sites. Our course puts emphasis on hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention.

This course is offered in partnership with the OSHA Training Institute and The University of South Florida.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Outreach Program is a voluntary training program designed to instruct construction personnel in the primary OSHA construction standards.

Mandatory – 15 hours:

• Introduction to OSHA Managing Safety and Health
• OSHA Focus Four Hazards
• Personal Protective Equipment
• Health Hazards in Construction Stairways and Ladders

Elective – 12 hours:

• Concrete and Masonry
• Construction
• Confined Space Entry
• Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors
• Ergonomics
• Excavations Fire Protection and Prevention
• Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal
• Motor Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment and Marine Operations;
• Rollover Protective Structures and Overhead Protection;
• and Signs, Signals and Barricades
• Powered Industrial Vehicles Safety and Health Programs
• Scaffolds Steel Erection
• Tools – Hand & Power Welding and Cutting

Optional – 3 hours: Any other construction industry topic and/or expand on the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is ½-hour.

Upon successful completion of this OSHA approved course, you will receive your 30-Hour Construction Outreach course completion card and completion certificate.
