It is an OSHA requirement that employers train workers who are required to work in permit-required confined spaces before the initial work assignment begins. Training is required for rescue team members. It is also highly suggested for persons to be certified in First Aid and CPR. A confined space has limited or restricted means of entry or exit, is large enough for an employee to enter and perform assigned work, and is not designed for continuous occupancy. The course also includes Hands-On Rescue Simulation, and students will leave with experience in assembling and using a confined space tripod and harnesses, etc.
